Why is christianity wrong

A post on judgmentalism brings out the judgmentalists. Judgments must be made within the church body, but we are not called to be the judge of those outside the body. Thank you. It saddens me to see the number of believers who have no love of people outside the flock, especially since Jesus came to call the sick to repentance.

Love is the answer. Your post really gave me hope. Read that passage about the samaritan woman again. There is nothing in there about Jesus judging or calling to repentance or giving forgiveness. This is from John 4, KJV. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:. Too bad too many people think sex and dirty talk is cool. This is just more of what America is becoming. Maybe we should think more about wholesome and uplighting and constructive thoughts than destructive and disrespectful thoughts and words huh?? Here, this should help. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining Coming from a former Lutheran, one of my greatest achievements was escaping the sick cult that is Christianity.

It causes major mental illness, using fear and guilt to control weak minded people who seek strength in numbers to feel good about themselves.

But it IS possible to break these chains and see this, IF, and only if you are truly honest and keep searching. It was the pharoah. But yes, most tolerant. The only one with free choice, you worthless bigot. Your religion is based on Judaic traditions yet you speak of triune God, and worship a man. Then have audacity to say Merry Christmas, not happy holidays, because jesus is the reason for the season, Chanukah is older.

Jesus may have celebrated Chanuka you appropriate others tradition and assume everyone believes your story the way you do. Dont misunderstand, the fact that there is no empirical evidence of God is why we call it faith. How will we evangelize to the world if we are full of so much venom? Men can make a Ferrari but not another man or even a dog, a cat or a fly………….. How very adversarial. Which part is false so we can revise the Bible again. You call people coward a lot.

You seem very angry condescending, self righteous, adversarial. You are not a very good spokesperson for your faith. You affirm what so many see as the problem with Christians to those outside of your religion.

You seem to know so much tell me, is it a sin to turn people away from Christ? Christianity is not the only religion with free choice. Israel is full of non religious people. I am friends with Moslem family who have a young man who decided to follow Buddha.

His family is very accepting of his decision and very friendly towards Jew and Christian alike. Thousands of Gods?? God tells us in the Bible there is only one God several times clearly. Yes, Jesus died, and was raised to life, and ascended to heaven says the Bible once again. Jesus was not a fan of religion but a big fan of faith and belief in him.

God calls no one to create fear and guilt toward other people. God wants the best for us all and we all need him badly as is evidenced in this messed up World we live in. There are no perfect people on this Earth but the God of the Bible is. We need to follow him as he has asked us. Belief can be difficult for many but he calls us all to himself.

He is the God of miracles as evidenced in the thousands and thousands of lives changed. Yes, that is the whole point. Most believe Jesus was here on Earth, even atheists and historians.

Jesus claimed to be God and we ALL have that to deal with if we choose to do so. The Bible is either truth or it is not, up to us to decide. The Bible is unique in many ways compared to all other writings of history. It contains many prophecies of which many have been fullfilled in this one man Jesus. That is miraculuos in and of itself. You can choose to deny it or accept it…your choice. Jesus says he is the only way to God. Jesus talked much about belief and faith, not so much knowledge. We all have the same choice to ignore it, or believe it.

It is far far from a blind faith. It is well worth the time to seriously consider these questions. Life is short, then eternity……. How little you know of Holy Scripture. The old testament is pretty close, almost the same, similarities end there. But I can see how someone as mentally substandard as you might not see it. You are funny — in a very sad way- and judgmental and would definitely turn me away from your church.

Your words sound like they are coming from a very bitter hearted person. If you want people to take you seriously, you might want to stop the netspeak. It only shows low intellgence. Insults and combativeness are not doing the trick.

If you are the future of evangelism the church is in trouble. That proves nothing. This is the problem with the world. You just say people are wrong and refuse to back up your claims. Who do you think GOD was talking to? You barely speak english. Nothing you say makes sense. Are you not familiar with it? Or do you choose to overlook it? Tha past few years have shown me how full of it christians are. Through with church and chrstians. I love you, dude. I wish people would wake up and smell the logic.

Christianity leads people down a path of willful ignorance that leads to isolationism and disappointment. I think if people are truly logical, they will ask themselves this question: Did Jesus really walk this Earth? If he did, who is he and how do we know anything about him?

If you are honest with yourself and truly want to deal with this question once and for all so you can move on and have peace about it, you need to know the answer to this question for YOU, not anyone else. If Jesus was here and did all the things people in history said he did, you have a decision to make. IF it is true, it is the single most important decision of your life.

You owe it to yourself to find the answer….. I do believe jesus was a real guy, but we have no way of knowing if he ever said any of the things the bible attributes to him.

I was a Christian for 30 years of my life and I know the bible buddy, I promise. I trust that if he was who christianity says he is, he will have the grace to forgive me for my honesty. I have seen lives ruined by christianity. I am related to a number of them. You have not seen lives ruined by christianity. I would suggest reading a history book since you think that your version of Christianity just magically sprang up from nowhere.

I still try to live my life by his teaching. You believe the teachings of Jesus…except the part where he said he WAS god? And this makes sense to you? Either you believe all of it or you believe none of it. As far as 4 goes, Yes Christianity and Christians are the most tolerant. The Climate Change hoaxers a religion not science are most definitely not tolerant or nice1 Muslims no! Buddhists no! Communists no! Tolerance is about practice and speech!

Only in a Christian nation have we seen freedom prosper unless it has been impressed on a nation powerfully like on Japan, Taiwan and South Korea as examples! Personally I hate the evil ways of this world. The only hope is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God whether people acknowledge that or not. It was written in greek and hebrew. And if you think there are translation problems, you should compare the bible as it is now, with the original version which we DO have.

You need to study the history of the Bible and how each letter was transcribed over time. They tried to destroy it…. The central theme by over 40 different authors over years is the same. No other book can claim that. Take a close look and you will see. You may not believe, and not all will, but your eyes will be opened to this book of miracles and truth…God is real.

You are aware the bible was revised, when the catholic church broke from orthodoxy and then when Calvin wrote reformation bible. Books were cut out and deemed unnecessary. What gives anyone the right to do that? Thank you for showing me the light.

Sadly there is no perfect church…. I hope you can rise above those who would judge you and realize they are doing what they accuse you of. People can be very complex and miss the true message of what Jesus was saying. We are all works in progress and we can help each other. It is far from a perfect world we live in but we have a perfect God to go to for answers in this life…. Just people that CALL themselves christians. Like catholics, for example. In no way are catholics christian…but they sure say they do.

They let their actions in the world say it for them. For he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. He deletes comments and I look at all the hateful things some people have said on here and my comment had absolutely no hatred in it. It just showed him for what he is. The comments section is a virtual living room of sorts and we want to facilitate a safe space for varying opinions about leadership, ministry, personal growth, the church, and so much more.

If someone walks in taking aggressive swings at others, we remove them just as we would in a real living room. Just comments that hurt others, including profanity. What post are you trying to reply to? Shame on him. How sad to see Christians bickering….

Be kind to each other…. It will all work out. Peace to you. Christian struggle like anyone else does. Everyone has feet of clay including Christians Jews non-believers whomever. That includes summing up those people that you work with that you live by who you date etc etc. So stop with the BS judging arguments. This is a BS article And it really shows how the writer knows nothing about Christianity.

It sounds like you simply asserted that judging is inevitable, and then used it as a basis to judge this whole thing. I love Jesus, but I fear for His church on earth seeing Christian communities full of scorn, mistrust, and judgment of others on the same journey.

This author is judging and giving his opinion. Jesus often judged right from wrong. There is nothing wrong with judging others. Stink at Friendship: again you are stereotyping Christians.. Proverbs It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. I think you may be missing some key points, here.

I think the author is suggesting that we look a little harder at ourselves — our words, our thoughts — our actions. Might you bring someone into the fold who will slip and make mistakes? We miss. We make mistakes. God loves us anyway. Even though you got a point, Jesus is very clear about not aling yourself with sinners. That diminish your holiness, but to teach them the error of their ways.

Not by judging but by teach them what is wrong or right. For example you tell a person that same sex relationship is wrong and you re right but you re in a non married relationship, you re wrong too therefore you re a hypocrite.

Jesus warned of hypocrisy. To teach someone that something is wrong you have to be an example of righteousness. Thats why being a real Christian is hard. Judgement is legal when you have the moral standing to do so. So no one can judge anyone, but teach them what is wrong from right not by judging but by supporting each other.

So he was an everyday living example of holiness. Example the law of God say do not desire the woman of your neighbor but Jesus said: but i say anyone who look at a woman with desire is a sinner so Jesus was very precise in his teachings and even more stronger than the law itself.

Cause he was living by the law. So inclusiveness is just an excuse to keep doing wrong things is not what Jesus taught. Im Christian and I completely agree with the article. I know I have been guilty of all these 3 things that we should not do as Christians. I know for myself I am often too hard on myself and in doing so I leave no room for vulnerability.

Believers or not we all fail and fall and we need to look at people as people loving each one no matter what they have done and no matter where they have come from. The article we all have read if not just a good read but an eye opener I feel and we can all decide to take this message to heart and work on our own attitudes and character flaws. God is love He cannot not love.

The 2nd thing Christians should not do is be hypocritical. This is a very important in the life span of a Christian to grow in maturity and as we grown and I can speak about myself in this case I went from being and feeling humiliated to being humble when I fancied and then false humility creeps in before you know it. It took me a few years to wisen up and identify these as God started teaching me humility that please send Him.

For those who are offended by some of the comments mentioned I would like to apologise on behalf of my Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. Together we can achieve so much more and help heal our lands. Be kind to those around you and on social media. So look you all admit your not perfect, we are all flawed, we are all wrong at times. This is no land of the free if we all have to succumb to your will, that is subservience.

I get what he is saying. I work with under 30 people. Im I often keep quiet and observe their judging comments against anyone who looks like a Strong big white man with crosses around his neck as being a christion white supremist, or old people made fun of after church and being full of Jesus by mistaking their kindness as judging them. Its crazy. I try to live by the fruit of the spirit. Patience and love being key. It shuts the door to trust all the fruits of the spirit by shaming, correcting or treating them like germs.

I believe Im so not an unloving Christian too. So much more to be said. And does what the jungle of words and no action AKA: the Bible says and does it when you read the word Now! Nore is he coming. A Living human being typed this. Not a suicidal dead Jesus sweet talking non threatening fake do nothing er. We are all faced with the same decision in life. Is God real, or not…or do we even care. If what the Bible says is true those who believe in Jesus and accept him as savior of the World will live forever in heaven.

That is what it says in a way that can easily be understood for those who actually seek the truth. People tried to destroy the Bible but yet it survives. There are impossible prophecies fulfilled, miracles that were witnessed, lives that were and are today completely changed. Yes, the Bible demands action…..

You can do nothing, or do something…. Yes and if there is Heaven I hope you all go there. And the actions I have personally witnessed lately show me a kind of people I am not interested in spending an eternity with.

Well said, JR. I search the Internet to find different translations of Biblical things and this is always the kind of condemnation I find.

I believe that Christ, instead, used His actions to judge. The youngest sister, who claims to love Jesus and talks about him far too much ad nauseum , hates our middle sister.

The youngest is a real charmer, super sweet like a little girl at 64 yrs old — yet, she defames the middle sister to her coworkers, shames her in front of people, lies about her, tries to make her appear small, and much more.

So, you blame others instead. Loving people love — period. Do to others as you would have them do to you. I believe in, and accept as true, the fundamental teachings of Christ.

Pray for my deluded sister. For her and the one she harms. Many blessings. God Is Love! As a matter of fact, a lot of Christians of today are hypocrite! For example, bringing him lots and lots of souls. Matthew says…But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. It does say trust in yourself and lean on your own understanding.

The most hilarious notion that people feel and do pray with acute intention is weakened when they are sucrose dripping from the end of a flower bloom sounding and out in the parking lot more like the super of a parking garage construction job. Listen, no matter what or who you are it cannot be disputed that your true heart is not put into your prayers or otherwise.

Reality, sound as we hear it, um well, I do not prefer to stiffle or decieve probably isnt heard but……. Jesus if I had to guess would look at you and mouth words unreadable to the lip reader, yet fully understood in the heart. Science, Occams Razor, due process ect, has much influence on the belief being proven invalid, however, science measures from a narrow rule as our mere benchmarks are earthbound, as are our concepts of understanding vast infinity. Look beyond, look opposite, think above what you hold as standard or stagnate.

I think that most of us are on our own faith journey and I feel really only God knows where we are at. Also I believe that only God has that authority — to judge because He can see every aspect and minute detail of our lives. I feel if we are followers of Christ then we know that God has a plan to prosper us.

My response is not directed to any particular person. I think everyone of us longs to be loved and accepted. Wow, Diane. Your family situation is very similar to mine.

One of my siblings has very been much hating on others in the family with gas lighting, lies, gossip and slander, without ANY attempt at reconciliation. The hurt and isolation this causes to the targets of this long term hatred is immense! If the only god of these haters would somehow give them a tap on the shoulder and give them an insight or better still, some personality repairs on how horrible and damaging not to mention profoundly disobedient???

I mean, these haters front up to church and therefore god, it would seem to get straightened out from the default human condition right? Yet it seems they are just left to be haters and wreckers. They are left to profoundly put others off from opening up to this particular world religious cult. If God exists, why is there suffering? Begin exploring what it's all about. There is clear evidence that humans invent gods. Humans have invented so many gods that the default assumption should be that a god is a supernatural entity invented by humans. Christianity would need solid evidence that the Jewish god is an exception to this rule but there is no such evidence.

There is clear evidence that religions and gods are propagated through culture by infecting children, and no evidence that they are propagated by gods. There is clear evidence that Christianity has evolved as human understanding of the world has changed whilst a real, God-given religion, should never need to change.

There is clear evidence that humans on this planet have unequal access to Christianity so, if Christianity were true, billions would be condemned to hell for no fault of their own. And if they were vain, selfish and cruel, that only served to endow them with the allure of rock stars. My childhood instinct to think of the biblical God as the po-faced enemy of liberty and fun was rationalised.

The defeat of paganism had ushered in the reign of Nobodaddy, and of all the crusaders, inquisitors and black-hatted puritans who had served as his acolytes. Colour and excitement had been drained from the world. So, perhaps it was no surprise that I should have continued to cherish classical antiquity as the period that most stirred and inspired me. When I came to write my first work of history, Rubicon , I chose a subject that had been particularly close to the hearts of the philosophes : the age of Cicero.

The theme of my second, Persian Fire , was one that even in the 21st century was serving Hollywood, as it had served Montaigne and Byron, as an archetype of the triumph of liberty over despotism: the Persian invasions of Greece. The years I spent writing these studies of the classical world — living intimately in the company of Leonidas and of Julius Caesar, of the hoplites who had died at Thermopylae and of the legionaries who had triumphed at Alesia — only confirmed me in my fascination: for Sparta and Rome, even when subjected to the minutest historical inquiry, did not cease to seem possessed of the qualities of an apex predator.
